[ 定義 Definition ]

◎ 　Ti 台灣 ee人 所講 ee 話, 應該 lorng 是 台灣話。 　這是 台灣話 ee 廣義 解說。 　Ti cit'ee 解說下, 台灣話 就 thafng 分做 鶴洛話, 客家話, 各種 原住民話 kab 各種 中國大陸 ee 話。

．Any language spoken by Taiwanese people should be called Taiwanese language.   In this sense, the Taiwanese language includes Hoqlor-oe [Holor-hoar], Kheh'oe [Khorciaf-hoar], many kinds of Goanzuxbiin-oe [Yuanzuomiin-hoar], and various languages from China.

[ 國語 Common Language ]

◎ 　為 boeq ho bokang 語言 ee 人,oexthafng 互相 溝通, 就 由 大家協同 來 決議 一種 語言, 做 共通語言, 這 就是 台灣 ee 國語。 自 1946年起, 政府 指定 中國官話 做 台灣 ee 國語, ho 所有 ee 學童 laai 學習 koq 使用。

． In order to let people of different languages can communicate, we have to find a language common to all the people. This is the official or common language of Taiwan.   Since 1946, the government assigned the Chinese Mandarin as the comon language, and let all of students in the elementary school to learn and use it.
 

[ U稱 ee "台灣話" 　Popular meaning of the "Taiwanese Language" ]

◎ 　台灣 ee 各種 語言 ee 中間, 鶴洛話 是 ti 台灣 所發展 起來 ee 語言; oextaxng 代表 台灣 固有 文化 kab 歷史淵源。 　所以, 一般人 teq 叫 "台灣話" ee, 是 鶴洛話。

． Among those languages spoken in Taiwan, Hoqlor-oe [Holor-hoar] is that developed on this island, and can represent the cultural history of Taiwan. This is why people means Hoqlor-oe they say "Taiwanese".   Hereupon, we will use "Taiguo [Thaai'yu]" to mean Hoqlor-oe.

[ 台語 ee 特色　 Special feature of Taiguo ]

◎　 四百年來, 大陸福建地區 ee 移民, 帶-tioh bokaang ee 口音 來 台灣 定居。 　Ti 戰前, 台灣 各地 ee 人, 互相 並無 非常 teq 交往, 所以 各地 ee 口音 就 保留 一寡 差異。

． In the past 400 years, immigrants from Fuchien (Hokkiexn [Fuciern]) braught to Taiwan different oral tones.　 Those Fuchien dialects have kept thier owns, because of the situation of rather scarce intermixing of people before the World War II.
　
◎ 　原來, 福建 ee 口語 是 北方 漢民族 ee 漢語 kab 數千年來 khia ti hiaf ee 百越族 ee 地方 語言, 所混合 laai 構成 ee。　 漢語 是 由 漢字 所租成 ee; 百越語 卻 如同 現時 ee 原住民語言, 是 整辭 表示 一個 意思, 而 boextaxng eng 漢字 laai 構成 ee, 非漢字 語言。

． In the first place, the spoken languages in Fuchien are the admixtures of the Han language braught by Northern Han tribes and the local languages of Pek'oad [pai'yueh] tribes who lived there for thousand years. 　 Han Language is constructed from Han Characters; Pak'oad languages are, however, composed by multi-syllable words like nowadays' Goanzuxbiin-oe, which is not the construct of Han Characters.
　
◎　於是, 台語 就 成做 由 85% ee 台音漢語 kab 15% ee 不宜 使用 漢字 laai 寫出 ee 百越語, 所混合 laai 構成 ee 語言

．The Taiguo is, thus, composed of 85% Han Language with Taiwanese pronounciation and 15% of Pak'oat Language which is not effectively written out with Han Characters.
　
◎ 　Boeq 寫出 台語 ee 最理想 ee 方法, 就是 "為 漢語 寫 漢字" 而 "為 非漢語 寫 音字"。　這個 情形, 非常 近似 現代 ee 日語文。

． The best way to write down the spoken Taiguo is to write Han characters for those Han words, and write some phonetic words for those which are not Han words. This situation is quite similar to the modern Japanese
